‘2024 Korea Grand Sale’ opens

Participating in Olive Young, Chicor, and Beauty Play… Discounts and experience events

The shopping festival '2024 Korea Grand Sale' will be held from January 11 to February 29.

This event was designed to attract foreign tourists and increase tourism consumption. 1,650 companies representing Korea will participate, offering discounts on products and providing opportunities for various cultural experiences.

The opening ceremony of the '2024 Korea Grand Sale' was held at the China OnDream Society in Seoul on the 11th. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In-chon and Visit Korea Year Committee Chairman Lee Boo-jin attended. They visited Olive Young Myeongdong Town branch and Tony Moly Myeongdong Cathedral branch. We inspected the shopping status of foreign tourists and the immediate value-added tax refund service, and delivered greetings to overseas consumers. Olive Young Myeongdong Town branch reopened in November last year. Currently, an average of 3,000 people visit per day, with foreign tourists accounting for 90%.

This year's Korea Grand Sale had the theme 'Your Special Moment in Korea'. 1,650 companies, the largest number since it was held in 2011, will participate and hold discount events.

‘Korea Grand Sale Welcome Center’ will be created in Myeong-dong, Hongdae, and Seongsu, Seoul, which foreigners frequently visit. Here, coupon books containing benefits from companies participating in the event are distributed free of charge.

Olive Young offers an additional 10% discount when paying with Alipay or UnionPay at 60 stores nationwide. Five Chicor Seoul stores offer a 10,000 won discount on purchases of 100,000 won or more. Additionally, exclusive K-beauty products will be introduced at special prices. Able C&C offers up to 50% discount on six brands: Missha, Chogongjin, APIEU, Stila, Cellapy, and Lapoticel. Beauty Play and Able C&C are holding a ‘One Point Makeup Class’ for foreigners.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, “We organized the Korea Grand Sale as the first event of the Visit Korea Year. We will support foreign tourists visiting Korea to shop freely and enjoy Korean culture. “We plan to reach 20 million foreign tourists this year,” he said.
